WOW, do we have some change coming…and I’m not just talking about the weather!
Change, like much of life, seems to come in waves. This one is a whopper!
On Monday we received the news from our current landlords that come June 1, they would like to have our beloved Second Space area back. They’ll be turning it into new office space for downtown Spokane. So it is becoming pretty evident that our days at 610 W. Second Ave. are numbered.
Having recovered from the initial shock now, I’m actually very excited about what this upcoming move may open up for us downtown. I think God has a great upgrade in store for us in this journey and probably an expanded footprint for our downtown presence.
We’ll be talking a little bit more about this on Sunday. But I wanted you to be the first to hear the news and to begin praying that we will discern God’s heart and direction in this upcoming move. We are committed to downtown and experiencing God’s heart there. So please add this to your prayers and pass the word to anyone you know who might be able to assist us with this need.
Speaking of changes, here are a few ministry changes that may affect you in the next few weeks.
Women’s Connection—If you’re a woman, you’re invited to be a part of this great third-Saturday-of-every-month gathering for fellowship, prayer and encouragement. Women’s Connection meets this Saturday, April 18th, at the Rocket Bakery at 157 S. Howard at 9:00a.m.
Selfie-Sunday—Not to be confused with “Selfish-Sunday” (which we don’t sponsor), we’re inviting you to either come ready to help us fill our directory with your smiling face or send us your selfie at (760)42-TXTMF (89863). This is totally optional but we sure would love to have your help compiling the best looking directory in the world.
Pioneer Pathways Team—If you were with us last week, you heard about the amazing doors God is opening to us in our neighborhood. So now we’re developing a team of people who simply love people and want to teach some of our willing neighbors basic life skills like cooking, shopping and movie-watching (really) while sharing those experiences together. If you would like to connect on a weekly basis with that group and be a part of what God is doing in our neighborhood, please sign up on Sunday at the Info Table or contact Derik at
.
Bloomsday Weekend—Yes, it’s that time of year again. In just three weeks, we’ll be adjusting our weekend schedule to accommodate Bloomsday 2015. Since it is virtually impossible to find parking on Bloomsday, we’re morphing Sunday services into a Saturday Fellowship Pot-Luck & Praise night from 6-8p.m. at Second Space, Saturday, May 2. There will be NO SUNDAY SERVICES on Bloomsday. So come and enjoy what will probably be our last shared meal at Second Space Gallery. And don’t forget to bring one of your favorite food items!
Riding the wave of change,
Pastor John
