This Bloomsday weekend holds a ton of fun for everyone in and around Mosaic. Here’s what's in the offering.

Great First Friday TONIGHT (May 2)! Our young adults/collegians are hosting a 3-dimensional art creation by Eastern Washington University students. Andrew’s Whitworth grads’ jazz ensemble will be providing the entertainment with standards and contemporary jazz tunes from 6-8p.m. Invite some friends for a great evening of food, coffee, music and art!

Saturday, May 3—FUN WITH GUNS! Mosaic Men will be gathering (with their guns) tomorrow to head 90 minutes north for a day of shooting, food and fun. Join us at 9:00 a.m. at the Wandermere Albertson’s on the way to Deer Park.

We will be going up to the national forest for a day of firearm safety tips and shooting. Hot dogs, chips and water will be provided for lunch. If you’re appetite is bigger than that, feel free to bring more munchies.

We will have the opportunity to try multiple firearms, including pistols, shotguns, hunting rifles and modern sporting rifles. If you have your own weapons feel free to bring them. Donations toward amo costs will be gratefully accepted.

Dress warmly and in layers. The current forecast is partly cloudy but warm. Keep in mind that it will be cooler in the forest. If you have any more specific questions email John Serben at

SUNDAY—EVENING POTLUCK (5:00p.m.) & SERVICE (6:00p.m.). NO MORNING SERVICES due to Bloomsday. As we do every year, we will not be having morning services on Bloomsday. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have an amazing time planned in the evening. Cook up your favorite dish or dessert and bring it down to Second Space at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. We will be joining forces with the other church that meets in our building on Sunday nights as we kickoff the new Sunday series “God is NOT Dead.”

            Ph.D. candidate Abigail Hohenstreet (Princeton University), a very smart, articulate pastor’s kid from Coeur d’Alene who works with numerous Christian apologetics ministries (Ravi Zacharius, Josh McDowell, etc.) will kick things off this Sunday night. This series looks at some of the hard questions people wrestle with when it comes to faith in God. It will be a great series to invite friends who are skeptics, seekers and sojourners. Since God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, it is important as Christ-followers that we know how to address some of the difficult intellectual challenges we and others have to whole-life faith in God. This interactive series should do just that.
