Christmas is such a great time to call people to embrace Christ! So many events, songs, stories and church things provide a very natural segue into talking about how good God has been to all of us.
So here are some “call times” over the next week that are opportunities for all of us to extend a call to others to encounter the love of God this season and enjoy Him for all eternity to come. Each of them is a wonderful way to truly give something meaningful this Christmas.
CALL TIME #1: THURSDAY EVENING @ THE COOPER-GEORGE @6:00PM we’ll be CAROLING our hearts out for dozens of residents there and at THE CARLYLE after that. All you need to bring is your warm smile, the love of Jesus and your voice. We’ll supply the music and people!
CALL TIME #2: FRIDAY @ 6PM @ MOSAIC we’ll be handing out soup packages to 350 of our closest neighbors. These hearty soups will not only provide several meals for people who could use some warm food this Christmas; they will also extend a personal invitation to join us Christmas Eve at one of the services at Mosaic. Lots of hands will make light work on this one so come and join us Friday evening as we meet a few of our neighbors.
CALL TIME #3: SUNDAY @ 9 & 11AM & 6PM @ MOSIAC we will find ourselves answering the question, “What Do You Give the Man Who Has Everything?” as we look at what King Herod and the magi have to teach us in the final Sunday of our series, “All I Want for Christmas Is….”
CALL TIME #4: CHRISTMAS EVE there will be two identical services at 3:00 and 5:00PM at Second Space Gallery complete with lots of music, singing, hot chocolate, storytelling and wonder. We’ll be completing our Advent 2012 journey by addressing “All I Need for Christmas Is….” Gather around the manger with us and get to know the Christ child through the hearts of Mary & Joseph, the shepherds, and some senior citizens, Anna & Simeon.
And remember, Christmas Eve is one of THE BEST times to invite people to a church service. Many are just waiting for our invitations. So let’s not miss this once-a-year call time.
See you soon!
Pastor John
