How many times have you been called upon to do or be something in life which you felt was way beyond your “pay grade” or training? Ever been asked to master a subject you knew little about? Become a parent when you didn’t even know how to change a diaper? Take a job you had never done before?
That’s what many of us feel when we hear Jesus call us to “make disciples of all nations” (Mt. 28:19). Wait a minute! How am I supposed to do something I feel significantly under-qualified and under-trained to do?
For the past three weeks, we’ve been looking at what God’s word says are some of the blessings and benefits of being disciples of Jesus. This week we’re trying to get our hearts and arms around Jesus’ command to all of us to “make disciples.”
So if you feel unprepared or ill-equipped to obey this last command Jesus gave us before he left this earth, join us for the next few Sundays. I promise you that I will do my best as your pastor to equip you to obey this simple yet seemingly overwhelming command…for the rest of your life on earth…wherever you are, whoever you are, in whatever you are doing in life. Join us as we look at how to become “Disciple-Making Disciples” in the 21st century.
DON’T FORGET…
- Mosaic Camping on Lake Coeur d’Alene next Thursday to Sunday, August 22-25. If you would like to be a part of this fun, refreshing time but don’t have all the camping gear (tents, camp stove, etc.), don’t let that stop you. We have plenty to loan anyone needing help. And if you’re single and want to split the cost of a site with other singles, let us know THIS SUNDAY. You can join the fun for less than $5/night. Even if you can just stay for a night or two, let us know so we can include you in the fun.
- As you begin to plan for THE FALL, how about setting aside just one night a week to be part of a small group, a marriage group, a ministry team, a Conduit training study, a Family Night group or a Discovery Bible Study? We’ll have more to tell you about all these as we get closer to September.
- To keep praying about where God wants Mosaic to move to downtown as we look to accommodate the expansion God is bringing.
See you this weekend in His presence.
Pastor John
