Pastor's Weekly Update

Fall back...for an hour, at least!

Posted by John Repsold on with 0 Comments

Greetings Mosaic Family.

Yes, THIS WEEKEND we GAIN 1 HOUR!  So no yawns, sleepy eyes or blank stares this one Sunday of the year, O.K?   Just go to bed at your regular time, set your clock back one hour and sleep tight.  After all, a little extra rest may be one of your week’s most important worship decisions.  But if you forget and arrive early, just find someone else who forgot too and go grab a cup of coffee for an hour of great fellowship.

Besides that tidbit of important info, here are a few other important things coming up at Mosaic.

THIS SUNDAY:  Pastor Eric will be taking us back into First Corinthians as we prepare to move into the chapter 6.  Don’t miss the blessing God has for you this weekend at either 9 or 11AM Sunday.

MEN:  This month we’re getting into our regular second-Saturday-of-the-month Men’s Connection BREAKFAST schedule.  So put it on your calendar for SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13th, from 8-9:30AM. We’ll be hearing from some of our own men on the issue of SEXUAL INTEGRITY

WOMEN:  On Sunday, NOVEMBER 20th at 12:30, you’re encourage to bring 1.) a brown-bag lunch to share together with the other women of Mosaic, and 2.) a plate of cookies to share with our downtown neighbors.  After lunch and great fellowship, you’ll have an opportunity to give away those treats to some of our Mosaic neighbors.  Mark the date…and pull out the cookie recipes.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, MISSION CATALYST 2011 comes to MOSAIC!

Ajay Pillai, the son of Paul Pillai of the Indian Nation Inland Mission, will be with us in both services. I’ve known Ajay and his parents for decades.  There are few, if any, mission works in India or around the world that compare with what God has done through this family of great faith.  How we were privileged to have Ajay with us for our Sunday services, only God knows.  This is truly an experience you will not want to miss.

Ajay is one of the keynote speakers at the second annual MISSIONS CATALYST INLAND NORTHWEST convention being held next weekend at Calvary Chapel of Spokane.  Go to www.mcinw.org for more information.  Besides Ajay, other keynote speakers include Luis Palau (who has spoken in person to 25 million people in 72 countries with more than one million decisions for Christ) and George Verwer (founder of Operation Mobilization, a ministry of evangelism, discipleship training and church planting that reaches across the world through two ships and over 4,000 people working in 80 nations).

This is truly the most outstanding cadre of missions speakers Spokane has ever seen on one weekend.  So consider attending this two-day conference that is FREE to the public, next weekend, November 11 and 12.  And don’t miss out on what God has in store for Mosaic on Sunday, November 13.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING…on Sunday this year (and Dec. 25th again)!

Yes, the decorations are already appearing in the stores.  But more important than any of that is the opportunity we will all have to share Jesus Christ with our friends and neighbors again this season.  Besides the caroling we’ll be doing at neighborhood residences, we’re planning for two CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES  along with an after-the-wrapping, late Christmas morning, celebration.

Mark your calendar and start praying about who you might invite to “experience the heart of God in the heart of the city”…during the heart of Christmas.

Resting well this weekend,

John
