So many emotions are tied up with our fathers.
I was reminded of that again just this morning as our much loved Tom Bates said good-bye to this life and his beloved family and stepped into the presence of his much-loved heavenly Father. As one Father to another, I'm sure that reunion was beyond our wildest dreams.
As we all approach this Father's Day weekend, I know it comes with a host of emotions, some deep and wonderful, others sad and difficult. I'm praying that no matter what your emotions may bring this weekend that they will nudge you closer to our perfect, good and amazing Heavenly Father.
And if you are able to join your Mosaic Family on Sunday morning, it will be our LAST SUNDAY @ Second Space Gallery...our last split-service format for a while (YES!)...and our last time to speak and pray blessing into the surrounding neighborhood in-person as actual neighbors, at least for a little while. So we'll see you (for the last time) at 9:15 or 11:00 on Father's Day this Sunday at Second Space Gallery.
Speaking of last experiences, Tom's Memorial Service will be this next Monday, June 22nd, at 4:00 p.m. at South Hill Bible Church (958 E. 29th Ave.). It will be followed by a potluck dinner in the Fellowship Hall there. I hope many of you can come, be blessed by the memories of Tom's life and be a blessing to Tom's family as they adjust to life without their dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and husband.
Experiencing so many feelings about fatherhood,
John
