So if Labor Day is dedicated to honor the social and economic achievements of the labor force in our nation, who deserves a break more than those who labor raising the next generation of great Americans day after day, week after week, month after month and, yes, year after year?
In honor of them, the only “kid-ministry” during this Sunday’s services will be for the wee ones from 0-5 years of age during the 2nd service (11:00 a.m.). Grade school kids will be joining us in big-people’s worship this Sunday. So be on your best behavior…adults!
As far as what I’ll be preaching about from Scripture, as promised, I’ll be using your feedback from last Sunday’s brief look at spiritual disciplines to spend some time drilling down into three or four of the most asked-for, important and possibly under-studied spiritual practices of disciple-making disciples.
Join us if you’re in town at either 9 or 11 a.m. at Second Space. If not, you might want to try and catch the podcast or read the notes on our web site later next week.
Coming Up: Following the short summer series on discipleship we’re ending this Sunday, we’ll be diving into a closely-related series on “The Church—Discipleship in Community” starting on Sunday, September 8th.
Enjoying rest from our labor,
Pastor John
